Nicaragua

Explore volcanic islands on the dirt roads of Nicaragua. Soak up the sun, surf, and dirt to escape North American winter.

Nestled in the heart of Central America, Nicaragua is home to expansive lakes, volcanoes, and a vibrant, engaging culture. Nicaragua is safe, accessible, affordable, and is a premier venue for exploration by bicycle. Nicaragua’s B and C roads are largely traffic-free and provide stunning vistas of the country and entry to unforgettable communities. Nicaraguan society is open and friendly, steeped in poetry and song. If the incredible riding, kayaking, hiking, and surfing don’t hook you, Nica’s kind and welcoming culture will.

Cycling

Nicaraguan roads are the country’s best kept secret. Car ownership is still relatively rare, and bicycles are routinely used by locals for commuting. This translates to quiet, traffic-free routes and friendly drivers. The terrain varies from gravel, to winding dirt roads to hand paved brick forest paths. Our Nicaraguan adventure is sure to provide both physical challenges and richly immersive cultural experiences.

Surfing and Kayaking

Nicaragua’s Lake Cocibolca is a geological oddity, and thanks to its location, ensures virtually year-round offshore winds onto Nicaragua’s Pacific coastline. What this means for you, is that even at low swells, there are perfectly manageable waves to be ridden for both experts and beginners.
